A web site of some sort is important but usually expensive. Word press is a great tool in the right hands. It is highly customisable and comes with lots of plug ins and widgets. This means that with very little skill you can create a great web site with very little effort. This double edged sword and unfortunately it means the person who did your site may not be able to get it to do what you want.
